Reserve Shiraz
In exceptional years, after several considered barrel tastings, a decision is made to blend some of the wine to appear under our Reserve label. We look for barrels which exhibit outstanding fruit flavour, fine tannins and good balance.
A very limited number of cases are produced under our Reserve label. These wines are made for cellaring and sharing on special occasions.
Reserve Shiraz Vintages
Hand picked over April 2017 from our own vines, this wine began its fermentation in small open fermenters before being free run into a combination of new French oak barrels and one year old barrels after 5 days.
The wine spent 17 months in barrels before bottling in July 2018 when 50 dozen bottles were produced. The sweet oak flavour in this lovely wine will integrate over time and support the longevity of this Heathcote classic with its intense ,vibrant fruit and spice character.
