The 2005 Shiraz is characterized by an intense and a well balanced mid palate enhanced by American oak maturation with added delicacy from blending with some wine matured with French Oak. The acid and fine tannins are agreeably balanced and are integrating well with the outstanding spice and berry flavours that already provide attractive drinking, but will develop into an excellent example of classic Heathcote Shiraz with cellaring.
The 2005 Reserve Shiraz is a limited release made from a selected parcel of premium fruit from the outstanding 2005 vintage. Picked at 14.6 Baume in late March, it was matured in entirely new French oak.'
It is characterized by intense varietal aromas, a fine balance of tannin and acid, dense purple colour and rich berry flavours. This wine will reward cellaring to develop its great potential. Purchases of the ’05 Reserve Shiraz are limited to 6 bottles per Mail order member.
The 2006 Chardonnay was made from top quality fruit picked in early March and barrel fermented in one year old French Oak using natural yeast. This treatment yielded attractive complexity and breadth of flavour that is complemented by delicate oak overtones. There are already well developed fruit flavours in the bouquet and palate that are followed by a long and flavoursome finish. This wine has the quality and power to develop further richness and depth of flavour with cellaring
The 2005 Chardonnay has a fresh grape aroma, with evidence of restrained French oak treatment and clean citrus/melon tones. There is well a balanced acid base with delicate oak flavour, and the various characters are well integrated. This Chardonnay will develop into a richer, fuller bodied wine with age but it is fresh and delicate on the palate now.
The 2004 Chardonnay is a medium bodied wine made with restrained French oak treatment and exhibiting apple, citrus, and melon flavours. This light, crisp Chardonnay is offered at a special price to Mailing list clients until sold out.
[SOLD OUT] The 2003 Shiraz is characterized by intense fresh varietal aromas and a well balanced mid palate enhanced by American oak maturation. In 2006 this wine received three stars in Wine State Magazine’s March/April edition where it was described as having ‘intense fresh varietal aromas’. This ’03 Shiraz was awarded a Gold award by international wine writer and Master of Wine, Martin Moran. He was impressed by the ‘ripe fruit and oak’ flavours.
